What is Kambo?
Kambo is a powerful traditional Amazonian medicine that works on the three levels of being—physical, emotional, and spiritual.Known as the jungle vaccine, Kambo detoxifies the body, revitalizes the immune system, improves mental clarity and focus, and helps rewire subconscious patterns. It is also an effective tool for trauma release and emotional balance. Though its effects vary from person to person, when applied correctly, Kambo can significantly improve your overall health, appearance, energy levels, and mental state.Kambo is derived from the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor, a tree frog native to the Amazon rainforest. I personally obtain my Kambo from the Sete Estrelhas area in the Noke Koi reserve along the Rio Gregório, in the Amazon region of Brazil. The frogs are handled with great care and respect—no harm is done to them during the harvesting process. In the Noke Koi tradition, the "milking" of the frogs is done gently to minimize stress, as they believe the spirit of the frog blesses the medicine.
The Sience Behind Kambo
Kambo contains a variety of bioactive peptides that make it a unique and effective therapeutic tool. These peptides have been scientifically studied for their role in pain relief, detoxification, immune support, and even potential applications in modern medicine. The key peptides found in Kambo are:• Dermorphin & Deltorphin – Potent natural opioids that bind to mu-opioid receptors, providing strong pain relief with fewer side effects and lower dependency risks than morphine.• Phyllocaerulein – Supports digestion by stimulating intestinal and gallbladder contractions, aiding detoxification and metabolism.• Dermaseptins – Antimicrobial peptides effective against bacteria, fungi, and viruses, with potential applications in infection control and cancer treatment.• Phyllomedusin – Strongly purgative, triggering detoxification through vomiting and bowel movements, essential to the Kambo cleansing ritual. These peptides have drawn interest from pharmaceutical research for their potential in pain management, immune support, and treating antibiotic-resistant infections, bridging traditional use with modern medical science.

Is Kambo Safe for me?
Kambo is a powerful and transformative medicine, and when administered correctly, it is generally very safe. However, its safety depends on two key factors: the professionalism of the facilitator and the health condition of the recipient.
Kambo and Safety
Before receiving Kambo, it is essential to consider certain health conditions that may make the medicine unsafe. Kambo is NOT recommended for individuals with:
Serious heart conditions (including pacemakers, heart disease, or recent heart surgery)
Stroke or aneurysm history
Severe low blood pressure or those taking medication for extreme hypotension
History of severe mental health disorders (such as schizophrenia or psychosis)
Epilepsy or seizures
Organ transplants or immunosuppressant medication
Severe asthma (uncontrolled or requiring frequent emergency treatment)
Addison’s disease
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Esophageal conditions (such as Barrett’s esophagus, severe GERD, or esophageal varices)
The Importance of Safe Facilitation
Most accidents or adverse reactions involving Kambo occur due to poor facilitation, including:
Overdosing by applying too much medicine at once
Excessive water consumption, which can lead to water intoxication
Incorrect application techniques, such as unsafe placements
Failing to check for underlying health conditions before administering Kambo
To ensure your safety and the best experience, I follow strict protocols, including personalized dosages, thorough medical screening, and a controlled setting that prioritizes your well-being.

What does a Kambo session involve, and how do I prepare?
Each session lasts about two hours and is conducted in the morning, between 10 and 12, on an empty stomach. It is essential to drink two liters of water just before the session. In the Katukina method, which I practice, you will also drink water during the session to support the purging process. The processSmall burns are made on the skin to open the outer layer, and the medicine is applied. While the procedure is painless and professionally administered, you may quickly experience intense physical sensations, including fever, swelling, increased heart rate, and a feeling of "body electricity." Purging is a key aspect of Kambo and may manifest as vomiting, sweating, trembling, crying, or other forms of release like defecation. Once the purging ends, the intensity diminishes, and you can rest. Within an hour, most people feel energized, clear-headed, and ready to resume their regular activities.Optimal results are achieved through three sessions applied over a 28-day cycle, though individual sessions are also beneficial.Sessions last two hours in total, and they take place at my space, but I can also come to your location for an additional fee.The cost for each session is a sliding scale between 60 and 80 euros per session, according to your possibilities.
Additional Medicines: Sananga, Rapé and Tarot
The Kambo session can be accompanied by two other traditional Amazonian medicines, Sananga and Rapé:Sananga is made from the root of Tabernaemontana and is traditionally used to treat eye ailments, enhance vision, and clear energetic blockages.Rapé is a sacred snuff made from Nicotiana rustica (Amazonian tobacco) and alkaline ashes from medicinal trees. It is known for grounding, cleansing the energy field, and harmonizing the mental and spiritual bodies. Both medicines are powerful and optional.I also integrate Kambo with Tarot in a unique three-session process, where each Kambo ceremony is paired with a Tarot card drawn by the participant. The first session is Situational, where the card reflects the present state—what the person is facing in their life. The second session is Constrictional, revealing the core challenge, blockage, or lesson being worked through. The third session is Resolutional, offering insight into the path forward, integrating the experience, and embracing transformation. This approach allows the participant to engage deeply with their healing process, using the Tarot as a mirror and Kambo as a catalyst, guiding them through personal and spiritual growth.

How to Prepare for a Session
Preparing for a Kambo session is not just about the physical detox but also about aligning one’s mind and spirit with the medicine’s purpose. Setting a clear intention before the session helps guide the process, making it more profound and personally meaningful. This could be a focus on healing, clarity, release, or renewal. Additionally, abstaining from heavy fats, alcohol, and drugs for at least three days before the session is highly recommended, as these substances can burden the liver and digestive system, making the detox process more intense. Certain traditional lineages also suggest refraining from excessive stimulation, including sexual activity, as it is believed that conserving vital energy enhances the body’s receptivity to the medicine. While not mandatory, reducing external distractions—such as social media, overstimulation, or negative interactions—can also support a deeper connection with the medicine. A Kambo session is a sacred opportunity for cleansing and realignment, and approaching it with respect, preparation, and mindfulness ensures a more transformative experience.

My Journey with Kambo
Kambo transformed my life. It healed me from chronic illnesses, strengthened my immune system, improved my physical stamina, and brought me mental clarity. It also helped me let go of toxic emotional reactions and embrace a more balanced state of being. Inspired by its profound impact, I made a commitment to share this sacred medicine with others.I practice Kambo in the tradition of the Noke Koi (Katukina) people, who are considered the originators of this medicine. Their approach differs from the Matsés method, emphasizing more intensive work through additional points, the use of water, chanting, and energetic cleansing.I trained under a Romeya (shaman) from the Iñarape Timbaúba village in the Amazon, along the Rio Gregório in Acre, Brazil. My learning was hands-on and deeply rooted in their culture. I continue to honor this lineage by maintaining a reciprocal relationship with the community, supporting their needs and well-being.
The Kambo Practitioner Collective
I belong to the Kambo Practitioner Collective, an international collective dedicated to honoring and uplifting the indigenous culture and tradition of Kambo.
